This Thursday morning, the Ebru anchors – Lucy and Brian – and I had a rousing debate over the SOPA Act. It’s my job to explain the pros and cons of these issues so that the audience will understand them. I first framed the internet as the Wild West – new territory, few rules – SOPA was the sheriff who came in and shot all the suspects, asking them questions later – the debate took off from there. It’s important that the audience is presented with an analysis of important issues, aside from being influenced by the agenda of special interests who color the information to suit their own needs.
